SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIPS TAKES US FURTHER

We’ve partnered with several local and international organisations. Our goals: to protect the ocean, to commit to a cleaner Curaçao, and to inspire and support others to live sustainably and consciously. At Dolphin Suites, one of our core values is taking care of each other. Together with our partners, we’d like to emphasize the importance of this in getting the best out of yourself and each other.


Since the opening of Dolphin Suites hotel in 2009, we have strived to create a work environment that allows us to minimize our carbon footprint without compromising the well-being of our guests.


In 2016, Dolphin Suites was the first hotel to start separating waste and has since been an active ambassador within the sector to stimulate others to implement similar forms of sustainable entrepreneurship. We believe that working together is the best thing we can do to realize positive change and create a more sustainable, healthy world. It’s one of the reasons we work hand-in-hand with different organizations like Club 17, the Water Refill Program, You Are A Hero, Hotels for Trees, and international lifestyle management coach Kirti Daryanani.

PARTNERSHIP

‘WELLNESS RETREATS WITH KIRTI DARYANANI’

In cooperation with international lifestyle management coach Kirti Daryanani, we have created impactful retreat programs aimed at supporting people struggling with burnout, stress, exhaustion, trauma and illness-related fatigue. Like our hotel, the retreat is accessible and inclusive to anyone.


The retreat focuses on achieving an optimal state of well-being, offering practical tools and tactics to combat the challenges of daily life. The global pandemic highlighted the need to balance demanding decisions with a healthy lifestyle, ultimately leading to a good work-life balance.

‘THE “MINDSET & RESILIENCE” CHARITY SEMINAR’

In collaboration with key speakers Niek van den Adel, Kirti Daryanani & Peter Kapitein, our “Mindset & Resilience” charity seminar had a profound impact on the local Curaçao community. It emphasized the power of solidarity and the empowerment of vulnerable individuals in society. 


In addition to greatly inspiring the local community, the seminar was able to raise more than 20,000 guilders, with these proceeds going to the SGR Group. Through this seminar, Dolphin Suites & Wellness remains committed to enabling extraordinary experiences, embracing innovation and making a positive impact on society.

CLUB 17

A local Curaçao initiative, Club17 combines the strength, knowledge and expertise of all its partners. Dolphin Suites is the strategic partner of Club 17, with a strong focus on social development, climate protection and sustainable economic growth.


The overarching goal of Club 17 is to make Curaçao the safest, most resilient and most sustainable island in the Caribbean, where everyone is welcome and feels at home. We aim to achieve this vision by 2035, and are proud to be actively involved in making it a reality.

PARTNERSHIP

'HOTELS FOR TREES'

The Hotels for Trees foundation contributes directly to a greener world - a world in which one new tree is planted every time a guest chooses to skip room cleaning. This green choice makes a contribution to the (re-)forestation projects Trees for All, both in the Netherlands and abroad.

PARTNERSHIP

RECYCLING WITH GREENFORCE

In collaboration with GreenForce, we encourage our guests and employees to separate their waste products before disposal. Bins are provided to accommodate for waste separation both in public areas and the hotel rooms.


  • We separate glass, plastic, and aluminium cans from residual waste
  • Garden waste is used for compost on the hotel grounds
  • We commit to reducing the use of paper by using an online guest directory and only printing whenever necessary
  • We pledge to donate old equipment and furniture to employees or charity institutions
  • We collect used batteries and ensure they are recycled in Holland

PARTNERSHIP

'WATER REFILL PROGRAM CURACAO'

 As a proud preferred partner of D-TAP, Dolphin Suites endorses taking care of each other and our environment. Dolphin Suites has been a water refill station and active seller of the D-Bottle since 2019. With this, the hotel is able to contribute towards minimising the use of plastic on the island and encourage visitors to drink enough water for the tropical climate. We have also created our own specially designed water bottle, complete with the Dolphin Suites logo.

PARTNERSHIP

'YOU ARE A HERO'

Care for the environment, care for Curaçao and care for its residents is an important aspect of our vision. To this end, we like to look for opportunities to contribute to the well-being of the local community. In December 2015, we organised a hand bike expedition on the island with Paralympic hand bike participants. This fundraiser allowed us to open a clinic on Curaçao for people with disabilities. Dolphin Suites is an ambassador of the You Are A Hero foundation, an initiative aimed at increasing the quality of life for people with disabilities in Curaçao.

THE FUTURE STARTS TODAY

We must learn to produce and use in sustainable ways to reduce and repair the damage done to our planet. Sustainability as a lifestyle is becoming more and more important, and this is at the forefront of phase two of our hotel, with natural light and cooling breezes worked into the design of the building. Other sustainable elements include a water irrigation system, grease traps, the use of solar panels, and water heating and control systems to minimize the use of energy.

TRAVELIFE GOLD AWARD

In recognition of our sustainability efforts, we received the Travelife Gold Award in January 2025. Travelife, a global accommodation sustainability certification body, takes into account emissions, biodiversity, fair labour, and many other requirements when considering the award.


Achieving this reflects our deep and ongoing commitment to sustainable business practices. As a team, we will continue to introduce and incorporate sustainable practices, contributing positively to the people and the island. Travelife Certified accommodation providers are internationally recognized as committed to creating better places to live, work and visit.
